Pony Beads
What Are Pony Beads

Pony beads are small plastic or glass beads
popular with adults and children as they are easy to work jewellery, hair
fashions, and other crafts. Ponies are hot right now! They have large holes and are available in a huge
range of colour and shape, making them fun for children who find them easy to
thread into simple jewellery.
Adults also love pony beads for their inexpensive variety and versatility. Like many shades of the same colour making sophisticated design. They also come opaque, transparent; or glittering metallic neon gold, silver or copper, to add bling to your jewellery.
Types of Pony Beads
The most popular type of pony bead is the original round
barrels, like a fat tire. However, theme shapes are catching up fast. Star
beads, heart, flower, butterfly, animal shapes and Christmas pony beads in red
and green shaped as Santa, snowmen and trees.
All with large holes so they can be strung on more materials. Crow beads
are similar, but larger.
Acrylic alphabet beads are trendy. Beaders choose letters and colour to personalize custom jewellery. Number beads can be used to spell out the year, special dates, fund raising, or to make nursery bracelets. Children love them! Teachers find pony beads fun to educate kids of all ages, and schools use them for events or to represent a form, team, or a mascot.
Don't underestimate plastic beads. They were originally much sought after, until the popularity of glass beads and other materials caused them to be looked down upon.
Other Uses
Pony beads are used on hair too - bright colours at the
ends of tiny braids for fun, or many shades of the same tint for a cooler look.
Other uses are on key chains, book marks, bead banners, scrunchies to
hold hair, and transparent pony beads make excellent sun catchers. Needle
crafters sew them onto bags and purses, and some crochet or knit them onto
choker necklaces and clothing.

The
combination of royal blue and flakes of gold has made lapis very popular. Its quality speaks for itself
making it easy for you to sell.
And everyone expects jewellery made from the gemstone to be expensive, giving
you an edge on price.
Named
after Lapis, the Latin word for stone, and the Arabian for blue. Thousands of
years before Christ, Egyptian and Persian royalty wore lapis as a talisman to
deter danger. In other cultures it was worshipped as a holy stone and thought to
have magical power in oriental countries. Many believe the Biblical sapphire was
actually lapis lazuli. Through the ages, lapis has been associated with power,
wisdom, love, and a stimulant for psychic ability. And in the art world it’s
famous for the ultramarine blue paint used by the Grand Old Masters, like on
portraits of the Virgin Mary. While other compositions have long since paled,
lapis has lost nothing of its brilliance.

For
many people lapis is a stone of truth and friendship. Bringing harmony to
relationships and helping its wearer openly state their individual opinion.
While aiding inner vision, wisdom, insight and good judgment. It’s also said to
be good for treating thyroid problems and helping to get in touch with our inner
selves. A powerful gemstone that should not be worn by those who lack strength
of character. MrBead has 22 different shapes of lapis beads at
MrBead.com
and

Customers expect Lapis jewellery to be expensive, so if you want to peddle a bargain, so for something like this:

Sapphire:
September's Gemstone

Sapphire is the birthstone for September, and is chemically and structurally the same as ruby, an aluminum oxide. However, where rubies are only red, sapphires come in every color but red: blue, golden yellow, reddish-orange, or violet. The most valuable sapphires have a vivid royal blue color. Some sapphires do change their colors between blue and violet depending on the light. Sapphires are extremely durable, only diamonds are harder. Sapphires are generally cut into cushions, rounded rectangle or oval shapes. However, fancy sapphires may be triangles, squares, marquises, pear shapes, cabochon cut, or smooth domes. Sapphire is the anniversary stone for the 5th and 45th years of marriage.

Light blue sapphire is the inspiration stone. It helps to bring new thoughts and makes one feel excited and full.
Green sapphire brings a lucky sense to ones life for it allows things to run smoothly.Sapphire's Expensive - Use Chalcedony instead for September!

Blue chalcedony
can look similar to sapphire at a fraction of the cost. Although a very
fine-grained variety of quartz. It has a waxy luster with a compact fibrous
structure. Natural chalcedony is usually grayish blue and sometimes with hints
of pink, however it can be color enhanced to light blue.
It is said that chalcedony was used
as a sacred stone by the Native Americas, promoting stability within the
ceremonial activities of the tribe. Chalcedony is thought to augment emotional
balance, vitality, stamina, endurance, kindness, charity and friendliness. It
also supposedly alleviates hostilities, irritability and melancholy. For our Chalcedony click MrBead or MrBead.co.uk top of page
